General Accountant

Collaborating closely with the Finance Director, the Accountant ensures Hilia’s financial activities are managed with integrity, precision, and operational excellence.

An accountant at Hilia has a natural passion for math and an eagerness to learn more about financial planning, tax strategy, budget preparation and helps Hilia to make critical financial decisions.

The accountant will update and maintain records, reconcile bank statements, and manage the accounting databases throughout the year.

Responsibilities  

  • 1. Prepare accurate periodic and ad-hoc financial statements, including balance sheets, P&L, revenue forecasts, and budget analysis.
  • 2.  Oversee accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR), ensuring timely disbursements, invoice follow-ups, and accurate debt balance updates.
  • 3.  Conduct thorough general ledger reviews and end-of-year closing processes to resolve discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
  • 4.  Monitor national and local financial legislation to ensure tax compliance and advise management on necessary regulatory actions.
  • 5.  Document accounting procedures, identify system inefficiencies, and implement best practices to enhance operational accuracy.
  • 6.  Coordinate with payroll and procurement for seamless exchanges while securing sensitive financial data and supporting special company projects.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 year of experience in General Accountant or Finance.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good skills in using accounting software and related IT systems.
  • Perfect written English
  • Ability to manage the time to meet deadline and activities in a timely manner. 

Nice to have 

  • A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Odoo.
  • Proficiency in Power Query, Power Pivot, and complex nested formulas.
  • Experience in IFRS
  • Experience using Tableau or Power BI to turn dry numbers into visual stories for management.
